The Breakfast Story
On a cold October morning as we celebrate Freddy 6th birthday (Yes we celebrate dogs birthdays!) we were looking for something to eat and a hot cup of coffee and came across The Breakfast Story. Between the busy Schonhouaser Allee and Kollwitz Platz, The Breakfast Story was a welcome sight. Loads of outside seating with blankets if needed but by this point I was so cold we asked if we were welcome inside with three dogs. We were greeted by a friendly smile and a “of course you can” and wow I was so happy to be invited inside. The cafe was so stylish, with plenty of space and the green velvet chairs are delightful.
We sat next to the window to give the dogs a chance to people watch while we enjoyed our warming coffee. Ernie was pleased to be sat not only on my jumper but also next to a warm radiator. It’s only October, how cold will he be in January?? I most certainly will be here a lot over the winter months its just so cosy and warm. Initially I was drawn to the huge slices of carrot cake that greats you as you walk in but quickly saw the menu and realised there were so many more options.
The dogs obviously felt the good vibes because they actually fell asleep! Anyone that knows Eevee knows this is some kind of miracle for her to relax while she’s outside the house. So amazingly I was able to eat my breakfast in peace.
The menu offers up bagels, different types of granola, eggs, cakes and lots more, my personal favourite the Craosts.
I chose the delicious Burrata Croast which is a lightly honey fried croissant with pesto, rocket, parma ham, burrata, pine nuts, balsamic. Seriously it was to die for. Really fresh, not soggy and packed full of flavour. The balsamic glaze really gave it a sweet edge which i loved.
They have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too. Plus a full drinks menu including hot coffees and fresh pressed juices.
A really great cafe, which opens early morning. and gives great feelings and excellent breakfast throughout the whole day. We certainly had an enjoyable breakfast experience and will be returning for sure. As it was Freddys birthday, I took his nudge on my leg as a sign he was ready to leave and head out for some more fun times.
Thank you The Breakfast Story and sorry for any Eevee hairs that might have lingered on your beautiful green velvet chairs after we left! x
