A hidden gem

Oh my goodness, what can I say. We found Ben Rahim totally by accident while exploring the pretty area of Sophienen Str. It’s in an inner courtyard and so so pretty.

The vibrant blue colours, the plants, mosaic tables and the wonderful smell of coffee was enough for us to stop here. They pride themselves on their coffee and are sure to not serve sugar, plus their hand brew coffee comes without milk so you can appreciate the flavours. “A third wave cafe with an Arabian twist”

Their oat milk cappucino cannot be faulted as was their batch brew. The highlight of this trip (apart from the coffee) was the most delicious sandwich, a shashuka focaccia! Sounds like the kind of thing you might not want in a sandwich, because who wants soggy bread, but it was perfect. The bread was crunchy and fresh and the filling was a perfect mix of tomato, egg, paprika and garlic. It was messy and the dogs enjoyed me spilling some on the floor!

A great place to stop and relax in the quiet backdrop of busy Berlin.

What I would say is the tables are quite low, so if you’ve a dog like Eevee who has no boundaries around food, be prepared to share!

A really lovely treat thanks you Ben Rahim
