🐾 Handstripping

Handstripping is perfect for wire-haired breeds such as Terriers and Wirehaired Dachshunds, typically performed every 6–12 weeks. Please note: Handstripping is only suitable for certain coat types. A consultation is required to assess your dog's coat and suitability for this technique.

  • Gentle handstripping technique to remove dead hair and preserve the natural texture and color of the coat

  • Full wash with coat-specific shampoo to cleanse the fur and prepare it for handstripping

  • Blow dry to fully dry the coat and ensure it's in the best condition for stripping

  • Brushing to remove tangles and loose hair

  • Stripping knife or fingers used to remove dead hairs (depending on the breed)

  • Final tidy-up of ears, paws, and tail for a polished finish

🐾 Puppy Introduction Session – €50

A gentle, low-pressure session to help your puppy feel safe and get used to the grooming environment.

This session is all about positive desensitisation, with no rush and lots of praise!

What’s Included:

  • Meet & greet with groomer and salon smells/sounds

  • Gentle brushing to introduce grooming tools

  • Paw handling and nail check

  • Introduction to dryer sound (no full drying)

  • Treats, cuddles, and positive reinforcement throughout

Short and sweet – approx. 30–40 minutes
Perfect for puppies aged 12–20 weeks (fully vaccinated)

🐾 Puppy’s First Full Groom – from €100

A full grooming experience tailored to your pup’s comfort level, taken at their own pace.

This is your puppy’s first proper tidy-up, but still focused on keeping things positive and low-stress.

What’s Included:

  • Gentle brushing and de-tangling

  • Warm wash with mild, puppy-safe shampoo

  • Hand blow dry (with plenty of breaks if needed)

  • Light paw trim, face tidy, and nail trim

  • Lots of gentle encouragement, breaks, and cuddles

🐾 Big Dog De-Shedding Package

Got a gentle giant who’s leaving half their coat on your floors? Our Big Dog De-Shedding Package is designed to reduce shedding, improve coat health, and leave your dog feeling lighter and cleaner.

This treatment is perfect for large, double-coated breeds such as Golden Retrievers, Huskies, German Shepherds, and Labradors — especially during seasonal coat blows.

🐾 Cat Grooming Service

Cats need grooming too — especially long-haired breeds or older kitties who struggle to keep themselves tidy. I offer gentle, feline-friendly grooming tailored to your cat’s needs, in a calm, quiet environment.

Whether your cat needs a de-mat, a full coat tidy, or just a freshen-up, we use low-stress handling techniques and plenty of patience.

  • Warm bath with cat-safe shampoo (optional, based on temperament)

  • Gentle brushing & de-matting

  • Light trim or lion clip (if requested)

  • Nail trim and paw tidy

  • Eye & ear cleaning

Every cat is different. We go at their pace and may adapt the session to what they’re comfortable with.
We do not sedate cats – if your kitty is extremely anxious or aggressive, we may recommend vet-assisted grooming.

Pricing varies based on coat condition, temperament, and services needed. A pre-appointment chat is required for all new feline clients.

Terms & Condtions

By booking an appointment with Pretty Pepper Paws, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Appointments & Cancellations

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrivals may result in rescheduling or a reduced grooming session.

  • We kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a 50% fee. No-shows may be charged the full service price.

  • Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in refusal of future bookings.

Coat Condition & De-matting

  • We prioritise your pet’s comfort and welfare. If a coat is severely matted, we may need to clip short rather than brush out to avoid pain or skin damage.

  • Additional charges may apply for de-matting, excessive undercoat, or if extra time is required due to coat condition.

  • We will always inform you of any coat issues before proceeding.

Health & Behaviour

  • Owners must inform us of any health issues, allergies, injuries, or behavioural concerns prior to grooming.

  • Aggressive or overly stressed pets may not be groomed for their safety and ours. We reserve the right to stop the session if we believe it’s unsafe or causing distress.

  • We do not groom dogs with contagious conditions (e.g. fleas, skin infections) — if discovered, the session will be halted and a cleaning fee may apply.

Pricing & Payments

  • All prices are starting prices and may vary depending on coat type, condition, size, and behaviour.

  • Final cost will be confirmed after an in-person assessment.

  • Payment is due on collection of your pet.

Photos & Social Media

  • We may take photos of your pet before/after grooming for promotional use (e.g. website, social media). Please let us know if you prefer your pet not be photographed.

Puppies & Elderly Dogs

  • Puppy and senior dog grooming is done with extra care and patience. Some services may be adapted or shortened based on tolerance and comfort.

  • Introducing puppies to grooming early is encouraged to help build positive associations.

Liability

  • While every care is taken, grooming is at the owner’s risk. Pretty Pepper Paws is not liable for pre-existing conditions or reactions to grooming products.

  • In the event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately. If veterinary attention is urgently required, it will be sought at your expense.
