<image:title>Blog - ACID Bakery - Let’s talk yummies! Im always a soft touch when it comes to pastries but ACID wins my heart every time. I’ve been Insta stalking ACID for some time as the photos of all the yummy pastries look amazing. So when they opened their first store I had to visit and their Cardamom buns have been pulling me into their two locations ever since.</image:title>
<image:caption>Founded in 2017 in Madrid where they have a very successful reputation as a coffee shop and bakery, Acid are now forging forward in Berlin and I’m delighted to say they have opened their second store not far from my house! I have since been to both locations several times while out with the dogs and have never been disappointed. The staff are consistently friendly and welcome the dogs in, the coffee is always the perfect temperature and even when the queue is out the door the quality never fails. The Mitte store is always busy but no one seems to mind the dogs strolling though while we place our order, I’ve never sat in at this location, due to its snug nature Vs my giant awkward dog, Eevee, but i’ve been told if you sit in the right spot, you can see the magic of their baking creations take place. So if like me you’ve a pack of dogs the outside space at the Pfefferberg site is a much better place to sit and enjoy your coffee break. The oat Cappucino is full bodied and great flavour, but as I said before I can highly recommend the Cardamon buns, buttery, rich in flavour, soft in the mouth and spicy aromatic without being over bearing, Yum!</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - ACID Bakery - As we walked in this week the server was busily spreading ample amounts of butter onto their signature sourdough. It feels like such a treat to order a huge ham sandwich at 10am with your morning coffee, we were not disappointed. and neither were the dogs when they were able to share. Eevee is a huge fan of the butter!</image:title>
<image:caption>They also serve croissants, focaccia and an array of fresh pastries every day, so there’s always something for everyone’s tastes. Freddy is a firm fan of the falling crumbs and has been delighted when offered some water on hot days.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - ACID Bakery - As well as high quality baked goods, great coffee and a chill feel to their coffee shops, what stands out the most for me is the staff. I’ve never had a bad visit and always feel welcome whichever dogs i’m with.</image:title>
<image:caption>So for that, I thank you ACID, you most certainly are in my top “places to go with dogs” See you and your yummy pastries soon.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Zatom Noway This was the first summer we spent in Poland 2024, the little cottage was very sweet and the best thing about this place was the fenced in garden. Living in the city we always have to get dressed and leave our apartment so the dogs can pee, so being able to step outside in my pyjamas, drink my coffee and let the dogs play, pee and run around was such a treat and super relaxing. The inside of the cottage was “cosy” with one bedroom upstairs and a sofa bed downstairs. It was quite dark inside so we were very grateful for the garden and outside seating.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Poland Adventures - Trying to find a lake to swim in is always an adventure within itself, looking at google maps and reading the reviews doesn’t always help, so we tend to follow trails and see what happens. Once during this trip we had to battle our way through epic trees, branches and dense forest to find an opening to swim. Probably should have taken a machete, that might have helped. Obviously the dogs didn’t care and treated it like one more outing. We did finally find a clearing so we could swim and eat our picnic. In this kind of location Ernie always has to stay on the lead because his prey drive far outweighs common sense and he would just leave us if he saw a wild animal.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Poland Adventures - We always take our food with us to keep the costs down but sometimes its nice to find a restaurant or somewhere for a treat, this particular holiday we had seen on google maps a place for fish and chips. The brit in me was so excited by this, but we had to drive down a very spooky forest lane into the middle of nowhere. It was hilarious to find this little cafe deep in the forest serving freshly made fish and chips, although what type of fish it was dont ask me I have no idea, my Polish speaking is limited to hello and thank you, but it tasted delicious. Im not sure I could ever find this place again even if I tried.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Poland Adventures - Jump one year to August 2025, we opted for a new location. This experience, while just as fun wasn’t as good as the year before. Sadly for us with two dogs who love to hunt the garden wasn’t fenced in as we had expected. We also came across a lot of no go areas for people with dogs, less trails and lots of lakes where dogs were not allowed. So although we made the best of it, and the dogs didn’t even notice, it wasn’t as relaxing as the previous year. Oh and with a family of stray kittens in our garden it certainly made for a few tense moments with the dogs.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Poland Adventures - When holidaying with four dogs, we have to be prepared for all eventualities and have a pretty chill approach to what happens. A lot of the places we had planned to visit, walk and swim on this holiday didn’t turn out as we had hoped and we found a way to laugh through this and try some where else. The little screen shot of the map was us walking the edge of the lake trying to find somewhere to sit but it sadly was covered in rubbish and human waste which was really sad. The great thing about the dogs is they really don’t mind where they are, they just want to run around and eat snacks. Dogs make things much less complicated than humans and they remind me quite often not to stress about what we can’t control. Some people were rude to us and some people really didn’t like the dogs and that’s ok. We can’t presume everyone is the same as us and even though it’s sad, not everyone likes dogs and that has to be ok. So we wouldn’t return to this particular location but I imagine a someone with a more chilled dog it would be perfect as there was a little lake at the end of the path next to the cottage and the water was perfect for swimming and relaxing. Our dogs demand slightly more than that!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Poland Adventures - Four Seasons Holiday Resort www.czteryporyroku.de This is where weve been the last two winters, its such a great dog friendly location and the joy of a totally empty beach covered in snow is the reason we come back. Just two minutes walk from the cabin and we were on the beach and it stretched for miles. I guess because its winter and empty no one minded the off leash dogs and we did see others with their dogs off leash so felt very comfortable. A walk up the road is Hotel Senator that has a public spa, we really appreciated a few hours there in the warm, while we left the dogs back in. the cabin sleeping off their epic beach day.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Poland Adventures - The nearest town is Kolobrzeg w hich is super sweet to walk through, it has some nice cafes and obviously some good fish and chips. We were delighted to sit on the beach and share our food with the dogs and the seagulls. We will definitely visit the winter beach again, its perfect for a few days away from the city, there’s plenty of space for the dogs and the cabins are cosy to snug up with four dogs and a wood burning fire. Now we start a new search for summer 2026, this time with a fenced in garden!</image:title>

<image:caption>The dogs were greeted with hellos, treats and a warm welcome which immediately makes us feel at ease. We chose to sit in the beautiful back room which honestly felt like I was in some high end hotel. Feeling slightly underdressed in my snow boots and dog clothes! But hey it‘s Berlin so anything goes. As well as the stunning blue tones, they also have a green cosy room, which honestly if I had the budget would be my living room of choice. There were delicious options of handmade french delicacies so we opted for a lemon tart, a chocolate eclair and a pain aux chocolate, also we were quite hungry so added a camembert, honey and walnut sandwich to our breakfast, and the obvious oat milk cappuccino and a Machta latte.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - 21gramm and a whole lot of dogs - Today was one of those super fun days where everything is just perfect and you realise the life of a dog sitter and blogger is the right life for me! I had Gracie, the lovely Hungarian Rescue dog staying with us for a couple of days and we had planned to meet up with our friend Kristina, owner of the brilliant Suzie and Vida. We always. know it will be high level fun with them around. So we decided to go to Tempelhoferfeld, as we had 5 dogs and normally three of those can not be let off a leash unless theres a fence to curtail the prey drive in the hunters. (Ernie, Vida & Gracie) They are perfect dogs but if your’e a regularly follower of my blog you will know Ernie, especially, will never come back if he sees wildlife. Tempelhoferfeld dog parks are huge and seem like fields, so its brilliant for the dog to be leash free and have the chance to run around without fear of losing them or risk one of them bringing us a bunny! (its happened before but thats another story)</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 21gramm and a whole lot of dogs - After an huge amount of running around and playing, we went to 21gramm, a cafe I’ve been excited to visit for a long time. The friendly welcome we received when we arrived with 5 dogs made us feel totally at ease. The outside area of 21gramm is a good size, super pretty and relaxed. We chose to sit in a little cosy corner and immediately all the dogs were given cuddles and water from the staff.</image:title>

<image:caption>Wow the food, let us just say it did not disappoint.!! Delicious fresh hot shakshuka with poached eggs came with plenty of bread for dipping. The Croque madame was oozing with grüyere cheese and topped with a fried egg over the layers of brioche came with a lovely salad, I was so full after that. The coffee was spot on. If we didn’t have the dogs I would have had a second coffee but as we know Eevee's patience is not brilliant It was such a relaxed cafe with excellent food and brilliant service, a total winner for us and the dogs, and given its across the street from TempelhoferFeld makes it a perfect location. Obviously, we sat outside because 5 dogs inside a cafe is a push for anyone, but if you have just one dog inside it so pretty and welcoming too.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Happy Sundays - Weve been coming here for years, with all the dogs in all weathers and our experience has always been the same. Delicious full flavoured coffee and great vibes from all the staff. They are always super friendly with the dogs and even have a jar full of dogs treats to help yourself too. The smell of warm cinnamon rolls and coffee always makes me happy when I walk in, even on the coldest wettest days this is always my go to coffee shop. Inside is such a cool Norweigen wood house feel, which in the winter is so cosy and their iced coffee and cookies are a perfect treat for the summer take aways. Also they open at 9am on a Sunday which is early for Berlin and so perfectly times for the my early walks.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Happy Sundays - After some delicious coffee, we walked up the Berlin Wall Memorial, Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer / The Berlin Wall Memorial runs along both sides of Bernauer Strasse. The outdoor exhibition, which uses the Bernauer Strasse to illustrate the history of the Berlin Wall, is presented on the former border strip, which was situated on the East Berlin side of the border. This area also includes the official monument dedicated to the memory of the divided city and the victims of communist tyranny. This is also where the Window of Remembrance stands. The Chapel of Reconciliation and the excavated foundations of a former apartment building, whose façade formed part of the border wall until the early 1980s, are also in this section. Its an incredibly interesting place to visit in Berlin, so gives you a brilliant in site into its history and plenty of space where you can also walk your dog at the same time. A really lovely morning, thanks Nemo and see you soon Oslo Kaffebar</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Breakfast Story - We sat next to the window to give the dogs a chance to people watch while we enjoyed our warming coffee. Ernie was pleased to be sat not only on my jumper but also next to a warm radiator. It’s only October, how cold will he be in January?? I most certainly will be here a lot over the winter months its just so cosy and warm. Initially I was drawn to the huge slices of carrot cake that greats you as you walk in but quickly saw the menu and realised there were so many more options.</image:title>
<image:caption>The dogs obviously felt the good vibes because they actually fell asleep! Anyone that knows Eevee knows this is some kind of miracle for her to relax while she’s outside the house. So amazingly I was able to eat my breakfast in peace.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - The Breakfast Story - The menu offers up bagels, different types of granola, eggs, cakes and lots more, my personal favourite the Craosts. I chose the delicious Burrata Croast which is a lightly honey fried croissant with pesto, rocket, parma ham, burrata, pine nuts, balsamic. Seriously it was to die for. Really fresh, not soggy and packed full of flavour. The balsamic glaze really gave it a sweet edge which i loved.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A hidden gem - Their oat milk cappucino cannot be faulted as was their batch brew. The highlight of this trip (apart from the coffee) was the most delicious sandwich, a shashuka focaccia! Sounds like the kind of thing you might not want in a sandwich, because who wants soggy bread, but it was perfect. <image:title>Blog - A hidden gem - A great place to stop and relax in the quiet backdrop of busy Berlin. What I would say is the tables are quite low, so if you’ve a dog like Eevee who has no boundaries around food, be prepared to share!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Just a few dogs - Last Saturday evening we headed to Hanover to help our friend collect her rescue dog that was on the transport, coming all the way from Hungary. Project Pusztahunde are an organisation from Hungary that rehome street dogs throughout Europe. We met the transport at 4am at a petrol station outside of Hanover. On this particular transport there were 36 dogs, dropped off to new forever homes throughout German. My friend Christiana had chosen Gracie from their website, a sweet small girl that was found living under an abandoned fridge. The organisation had rescued her and she had been living in their shelter. Now she’s safe and snug and will be living her best life in Berlin with loads of doggy friends to look after her.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Just a few dogs - Monday we had the great pleasure to look after Freddy for the afternoon. Hes such a good boy. We always meet for his pick up in the dog park, it gives all the dogs a chance to run around and greet each other without the leads getting in the way. Also gives them a five minutes of madness, which helps them be much calmer on the lead. We then took a stroll through the neighbourhood and back to our place for some sofa snugs. Ernie loves Freddy so much and likes to sleep as close as he can.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Just a few dogs - On Tuesday and Wednesday we had the delight of looking after Suzie & Vida, lovingly called The Chicas. Two beauties rescued by my good friend Kristina on her trip to Costa Rica several years ago. They are the sweetest of girls and really fun to look after. However on this particular day Suzie really didn’t want to go for a walk. (See her mood in the photo) S o I looked like the crazy dog lady who just kidnapped an unwilling dog. Suzie loves me but today she was really standing her ground, and at the specific moment I’m trying my best to create some momentum in the walk a lady stopped me and asks, “erm you ok? That’s Suzie isnt it?? and where’s her owner?” I was so embarrassed! I obviously had to explain that she is safe and i’m not a dog thief. After a few laughs about her stubbourness, her nickname isn’t Controletta for nothing, and me silently dying inside, we actually all walked together and had a lovely chat. The nice thing about Berlin is although it’s a city, in each neighbourhood everyone really does know everyone.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Just a few dogs - We then took a pit stop at Doughnut Time, because I really needed some sugar and an ice coffee. It’s a really jazzy colourful doughnut cafe, with loads of seating inside and out. The dogs were welcomed inside and everyone watching seemed to love four dogs looking at doughnuts. The doughnuts are vegan, with loads of flavours to choose and the ice oat coffee was great. Suzie was also much happier to have a few treats from my dog bag and some cuddles. See she loves me really.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - City Dogs - The menu is full of delicious choices, including plenty for vegetarian and gluten free options. We chose smoked salmon and poached eggs on the amazing sourdough bread from @albatrossberlin , plus the avacado and poached eggs. Both were fresh and tasty. They make a really great cup of coffee and Im obsessed with the blue cups! Weekends can get pretty busy so go early if you want to get a nice seat outside. However the service is always speedy, which helps if you have a dog that does‘nt like to sit still for too long. Dogs are also allowed inside as long as they behave and dont try to lick all the other customers “Eevee :-)” A worthwhile walk into Mitte for a super dog friendly delicious cafe.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A day of exploring - Early Sunday morning , My husband and I took the dogs on the train to the Tiergarten. Eevee’s patience on the train is zero, she’s not afraid she’s just too excited and tries to lick all the other passengers! Trying to contain her excited wagging tail from whipping the couple next to me was a challenge. Our train came out directly in front of the Brandenburg Gate, I love walking through here, seeing all the people from all over the world, it really feels like i’m a tourist in my own city. The Tiergarten is so green and pretty, full of epic trees and ponds, you can really take your time to soak up the nature. We like to cut across some of the more wilder areas, so the dogs can really explore, Much to the annoyance of my husband who was clearly not wearing his “dog walking trainers”! oops! It’s also where you see the best birds including buzzards and plenty of woodpeckers. The Tiergarten can get quite busy as Berliners meet here for anything from family picnics to parties. So we like to go early morning to avoid the crowds. I would say unless your dog has amazing recall its better to keep them on the lead because of the hundreds of rabbits running around. Ernie loves to chase anything that moves and would happily spend the whole day chasing them if we let him. Berlin summers can be super warm so it was nice to be under the trees enjoying the shade and there’s plenty of sniffing opportunities for your dog, oh and also eating the rabbit poo is Eevee’s favourite activity!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A day of exploring - We then took a left turn out of the Tiergarten and headed towards Potsdamer Platz in search of refreshments. We were delighted to find The Barn Coffee Roasters. This has a huge outside area and as it was still quite early we were the only ones there. The oat milk cappuccino was flavourful and well balanced, I could have easily had a second! We also shared the carrot cake and Anzac cookies. Both were fresh and flavourful. They have plenty of space for the dogs and they even offered our dogs some water which was a really nice touch.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A day of exploring - After the pit stop we then headed across the river and totally unplanned we ended up by the Neue Nationalgalerie. This was so much fun, not only for us humans to walk around the outside and look at the brilliant art work but the dogs got so much attention from the tourists! People took so many pictures of Ernie and Eevee next to the statues I should have started charging a fee :-)</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A day of exploring - I always carry water and snacks with us on any dog walk because I never know how long I will end up being outside and Eevee would never forgive me if shes not fed at least every three minutes! This walk took us over two hours with all the exploring and pit stops. The lovely thing about this location is you can be totally in the middle of the city and then head back into the Tiergarten for the dogs to decompress and roll around on the grass. A worth while day trip with some delicious coffee in the mix, thank you The Barn, The Tiergarten & Neue Nationalgalerie</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Perfect Morning</image:title>
<image:caption>On arrival we were not disappointed, a light, warm welcoming space. Vibrant yellow seating and a ceiling full of greenery. I always ask if its ok to go inside with the dog, never presume. Not everyone likes dogs and that’s ok. We were delighted when they said “yes of course please come in” and I immediately spotted a huge great dane snoozing in the corner. Clearly he was a café pro. The menu has plenty of sweet and savoury choices and also the option to build your own breakfast. I chose the croque monsieur, having a cheese craving and Nicole opted for poached eggs on toasted brioche. It was delightful. Crispy toast, fresh ham and melted cheese and the bechamel sauce was just right. Im also quite judgy about poached eggs because I get so upset about soggy bread, but Nicole assured me it was delicious and the brioche was perfect all the way through. I had a large oat milk cappuccino and safe to say it was spot on. Not too milky and a strong coffee flavour throughout. While we sat in the sunny window, Eevee tried to make friends with the nice couple sat next to us and we knew she had her eye on their French toast. Freddy was, as always, a good boy and lay down under the table but Eevee was not having it, she still needs to learn about café culture. So after a quick consumption of all the yummies we left. Good prices, very friendly staff, great for dogs, food was on point, loads of outside seating so I imagine in summer this place is packed, today it was perfect for us.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - Nature and Grilled Cheese</image:title>
<image:caption>The minute I walked through the entrance I was greeted with colour, delicious smells and an eclectic array of cafes and bars. We followed the path past the band that were setting up for the day and found what we were looking for, Die Backpfiefe, such a cute little bakery nestled amongst the trees, offering cinnamon and apple schnecke, fresh bread, rolls, brownies and grilled cheese! Oh yes they know how to win my heart. I love grilled cheese. We ordered and immediately felt at ease as the owner brought out some water for the dogs and said we can also take a look inside the bakery, which was charming and rustic and oh the smell of fresh baked bread! There is loads of wooded seating amongst the trees in a staggered system down to the riverside. Luckily we were there early and able to sit in peace, apart from the friendly sparrows trying to steal our hot cheesy treats. To take twenty minutes and watch the boats go by, see the Herons coming into land and even a Cormorant fly by was perfect. I love nature, I miss living in the country but today was exactly what I needed to refill my nature cup. Such a sensation of being on holiday in my own city. I highly recommend going early for opening times. 10.30, its so quiet and seriously try the grilled cheese. Thanks so much Die Backpfeife</image:caption>
